Reassurance and clarity when it matters most.
With our healthcare system under significant strain, it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle. Individuals diagnosed with a critical or life-threatening illness have many questions, and often don’t know who to turn to for advice.

Questions We Address
What does my diagnosis mean?
What are my treatment options? What are the risks and benefits of each treatment?
Where can I get the best care for my condition?
Will my insurance cover my treatment? Are financial assistance programs available?
How will this affect my daily life? What lifestyle changes should I make?
What resources are available to help me cope?

Expert Medical Knowledge. Collaborative review.
ongoing follow-up.
Our Medical Second Opinion program is a collaborative and comprehensive expert review of a member’s medical files to ensure that they receive the right diagnosis, the best treatment options, and trusted resources and support.
How it works:
- Our nurse case manager, who is the main point of contact, conducts a thorough intake with the eligible member.
- Once consent is provided, all medical records are collected by our team.
- Our in-house medical team works with physicians from academic medical centres across Canada who have specific expertise in rare and complex diseases. The review is conducted via a collaborative, peer-to-peer approach. Treatment recommendations are based on the most current medical research and are approved by Health Canada.
- Our compassionate nurse case manager provides ongoing follow-up to ensure that any further questions are addressed.
- The results can be shared with your physician/specialist.
